When I was in highschool, the machine was often busted so we had to get pads from the nurse or p.e. teacher.

When I was in college only the bigger "main floor" restrooms in a building would have machines.

Ironically the restroom next to the bookstore had a machine. But ofcourse the bookstore sold pads and tampons themselves. Go figure!

I'm begining to think that the reason it is hard to find machines is because either people destroy them and try to steal the contents, or more women are just carying their own stuff.

I think those machines are a throwback from when pads were bigger and didn't come out of the box folded and prewraped. So maybe that's when women didn't feel like carrying theirs from home.

I am the same I might only use a tampon or pad out of the machine in an extreme emergency. I would rather use tissue or borrow one because you dont know what products are in the machine or how long they have been there. I also keep extra in my car so I usually wont get caught without.

I never thought about it but your right it's not hat many and I think it's due to like the previous post said people are more into carrying their own and who knows how long some of those things sit in there. I know I personally never would buy one from the machine if I had emergency for whatever the reason i would use tissue and run to the nearest pharmacy or store that sold what I needed.

In my area, they still have them. They have in the shopping malls, movie theaters, some bars and restaurants, sporting arenas, colleges and schools, and some gas stations. Even my church has a pad/tampon machine in the bathroom.

The one thing that amazes me is the price the machines are charging. Some machines still only charge a quarter, while others are charging either 50 cents, 75 cents, and even a dollar in some malls.

I hadn't thought about it but your right there appears to be less of these machines around. Don't know why but my office only has a tampon machine so I guess I guess it's up to who owns the building and pays the maintenance staff about whether they offer this. I carry my own like most of us at work but it's nice to have the machine should you run out or forget to restock your own supply. Could be for health reasons that these machines are not available every where.....

pad/tampon machines

Is it just me or are pad/tampon machines in public restrooms harder to find than they used to be.

My local library has them, which is cool. But it seems like it is mostly schools that have them now.

Anybody who remembers when you could find them in almost any pbulic restroom know what I am talking about?
